new addition: frontosa

how big is he?

i hope you cycled it before adding fish

ok, thats good

Another silly question. I know i have to test the PH and the alkalinity. But what else should i test for. And what else do i need to add to the tank like trace elements and those kind of things.

cfasulo: You should check the Ammonia and NitrIte levels for sure. Did you add anything to the tank for those 2 weeks (pure ammonia, fish food), if not, your tank didn't cycle. Check those levels, because you may be doing alot of water changes in the future. :)

he's in the 40gal for now with a kribensis, im moving the krib to my 55 in a few days, and then i plan on adding 4 more fronts, keeping them in the 40 until they outgrow it, then moving them to a 150 long
I'd love to have a 150g! That would be awesome. It looks like you have a nice collection of large tanks there. I hope to eventually upgrade my Malawis to atleast a 125g for more room.

you should also check for nitrates, a high nitrate level can also kill off all your fish

kristin, i dont have enough large tanks lol

pretty soon i'll have another 150 and a 250 to add to my list :D
