new addition: frontosa

i just bought a freshwater master test kit. it tests ph, high range ph, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels. is this good enough. Whats the difference between ph and high ph, and hardness and alkalinity.

i also got amquel+, it says it removes nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, chlorine and chloramines is that good.

i have a alkalinity tester at home as well.

so am i straight with testers
do i need anything else in your opinion.

What should the all these levels be at i know the ph should be at around 8-9 and the alkalinity should be at 10-20, but what ammonia, nitrite and nitrates

ammonia should be at 0 nitrites should be at 0 nitrates should be around 5-10

i've never used amquel+, but if it romoves chloramin, i say its good

your filters, depending on what they're rated for, will take care of the ammonia and nitrates

you dont really need that stuff..but it can be added when a new fish is introduced

25-50% every week

Yea your burundi will do good alone i have some alone in with arowanas and others and they do well!
