New addition to the Doll House

Sorry to hijack your thread a bit, Doll, but what Lila said about other animals' reaction to them got me thinking about something. One of my cats, Dante (the *** one), is fine with Kramer. They can stay out together...though I never leave them unsupervised...they "play". Kramer will walk right up to Dante on the floor and fold his head under and sleep. The other cat, Baron, is funny as heck to watch when Kramer is out. You can literally SEE the internal struggle he has. "Oohhh, I want to eat him. Nooooo, mom would kill me. Ooh, I could kill him. Must not touch him."

All of those thoughts just flash right across his face. The most he's ever tried to do is touch his tail feathers with a paw but he knew he wasn't supposed to do that. Now all I have to do is look at him and he leaves the room before he gets in more trouble!

6 cockatiels - that's aweomse:) Got any pictures:D

Doll..is there a name for her coloring? My folks bird doesn't have the pattern on the feathers like yours does..very nice. And such an intelligent looking baby too!

thanks guys :) John, I can remember way back in the day when I had babies galore as I was breeding, the chorus is unforgetable so I know exactly what ya mean :D

Lila, I thought my dogs would be nuts but it's the exact opposite... you should give it a try ;)

hehehe, Leo... my cat is like that with my lory.... the lory just happens to be tougher than the cat though, hehehe

nursie, she's called "pied", but that may change as she goes through her first molt which could be from not up until she's 6 months. Then we'll know if she's going to keep this pattern or not. My original pied kept her markings but she did have chicks born pied that turned grey.... only time will tell :)

Thats a very cute bird Dangerdoll! Looks very cheeky :)
I totally agree!
Very nice bird!

thanks guys. Well, I moved her into her new cage which is a lot bigger than the one she came in, and it's white.... she's looks so pretty in it. She started singing yesterday and now I'm waiting for her to use her swing for the first time. Pat (my Lory) loves her already. Although I would never trust them in the same cage together, he nearly flipped out when I took Sunny out of the room to switch her into the new cage. And when she was rolled back in, he settled with these kissy sounds he makes :D

pretty bird pretty bird pretty bird pretty bird.

Oh sorry,

my wife has one and that's what it keeps saying. I think it has a complex

pretty bird DD!!!

What a beautiful animal! Reminds me of the one my best friend's family had growing up. Her preteen brother taught it to scream "rape" on command. The bird had a wonderful character when the brother wasn't around. :)

Feeding time in the Reiverix household....

Reiverix - I am so jealous! They all look so pretty in a group like that! Thank you for posting that:) I'm going to show it to Chris and beg:D

What kind of foods (not "bird food") do yours prefer - that's a question for everyone? Mine likes broccoli best and will eat green peppers and baby spinach. Past that it can be difficult sometimes. I buy pelleted Cockatiel formula food at the vet which is really well balanced and completely organic as a staple. It's called Harrisons and I'd suggest it if you can find it.

EDIT: Being the overly proud mama that I am...I'll post up a pic of Kramer so we can all look at each other's beautiful birdies. Mine doesn't have the fancy coloring of many of yours though:
