I am a cichlid lover I keeo discus and apistos but I never really liked angels till I saw this one and had to have him. I also got two more. Are they schooling fish? Is three enough? What is the general temperament? Can they live with apistos that are not aggressive?
Here is the one that I could not pass up.

angels can live singly in pairs or add more..they will school but get them to exhibit their real schooling traits you need a school of 15 or more(read as large tank)

you can keep them in small shoals of 3-5 but the more you add the greater the chance for a pair to form..if that happens you will need another tank.

I've seen that fish before ;)

that is either damage when it was really small(it is still a young angel judging by the blush cheeks) or that is a genetic defect.

Hope it lives

I actually have a sunset gold koi pearlscale with no ventral fins...LOL
he has a turned up mouth too but he is tough and has grown to an adult//..he is also a lone angel(definitely not brood stock)

Is the reason I would need another tank if I get a pair because they will fight off the other fish?
They are young and so far no aggression. They are eating well and seem healthy.

What size tank?

that is one odd looking angel, cool. i have 8 angel, i dont find that they school, not like say the silver dollars if they pair off they will keep everyone over to one side of the tank.

Funnily enough, i have 2 angels that have very similar deformities. They are from my first ever brood and are about 7 weeks old now. They are also so of the biggest out of around 150!

angels become very territorial once the pair off.

they ill exhibit schooling behaviors but typically hen they are in a large tank and there are at least 10.

once they pair off and spawn the behavior changes...but after the span mine ill occassionally group back up ( I keep 2 pairs in a 55)
