-------->Pics are in this thread<--------

I have been wanting some angles for my 75 gallon tank for a long time. My LFS just happened to have some angelfish today. They are what I guess is black marble? And they appear to be veils to me, but I don't have any experience with angelfish, so I haven't seen that many. Can someone please tell me if they are veils or not?

I have heard the only way to tell male from female is that the female has a sunk in head and the male has a hump on his head, is that correct? If so I think I have 1 female and 2 male. What do you think?

So, if that is right should I take 1 male back, or get a couple more for the group to make them happy?

Thanks so much!!!

I commented on your first question but missed the second. You can only tell the differnce between males and females when they breed and pair up. Males have a smaller papila while females have the larger, fatter papila for laying eggs. As far as groups, its not necessary but I noticed my angels school up a lot. When they do pair up you'll notice a lot of people seperate the pair in another tank so they can breed in peace, other wise they get hyper aggressive and may kill other fish.

Thanks for the nice comments, and advice!

So if it was you, would you add 2 more or leave it at 3? I've heard with 5 you've almost certainly got a pair, which is what I'm shooting for...

Ok, Thanks! These three seem pretty cool with each other, so I guess I'll leave it at that. I'm still amazed I found such nice ones at my LFS. I was there when the boxes came in! :D

Thanks!!!
