Well yes and no on QT, it's turned into a regular fish tank. I was keeping the Glowlights in there to keep it cycled. I've planted the tank and have diy co2 setup. Wanted to keep similar parameters to my main tank.
So then my Emperors killed a Rummynose a few weeks ago. Made the choice to take the Emperors back to my LFS. Picked up three Blue Emperors to replace the Emperors, but, after about two weeks in the QT I see agressive behavior in these too. Now they will not get as big as the regular Emperors, I didn't like it.
Ok to the Rams, I am at the local LFS and notice the current batch of Rams, this is a Saturday (they put there new arrivals out on thurdays). They look really really good and I say to one of the workers good looking batch of new Rams, just put those out, he says, no those have been out since last week.
So middle of the next week I am back checking on the Rams, they still look great, I pick two up and a Rummynose. Accept the risk and put them in the Main tank (knowing my QT is full basically).
Anyways just got back from my LFS tonight, still about 3 or 4 pairs of Rams from that batch, and they look really really good still. If my female dies I'll replace her with one of these right away (might as well now).
No my local LFS does not have any return credit or return. They will take fish back however if cleared with the owner first before bringing anything in. I'll be talking to him about the Blue Emperors so I can bring them back and have some spare room in the QT again.
I think I'll know which way she is going by tommorrow morning. She's been on her side at the bottom once but she's still moving about some (hopefully not with the current).
I've cut the CO2 off a couple of hours early tonight to give her some more air. Did a 10% water change before the meds.
My water is very clean, I do 50% changes every Sun morning. Here's part of the problem though, I am doing EI fert dosing so I do have high nitrates. I'll be cutting way back on that part of the routine now (don't want to get into all the fert #s but I've got room to bring those down).
Well that's most of the background on the situation :hang:
Thanks again!
Rob
