Keep us updated with pics once they're established. I'm anxious to see how they color up. I've been thinking about picking up some of the brigittae the next time I'm in Seattle.
sure will. Im anxious myself to see them color up like they are on franksaquarium site. I guess if the lighting/tank conditions are right they should be that deep red in no time.
Im guessing its because his photos are of adults and these are juvies which always look half retarded lollonger fish than in the photo on franks site...
awesome!
Thanks jm
How they looking now Yuriy? Some of mine are that bright red color now, while others are still that orange color. Maybe something to do with sex? I noticed that some of mine have complete stripes, while others don't. Seeing the same thing in your pics... It'd be cool to have some as yet undiscovered/ new to the hobby fish mixed in with our boraras schools no?
At the moment they are still as is, the chili rasboras are abit more orange now but still not as deep of a red as on franks site. I tried added some frogbit to block out the light for them and i guess they are liking that.
About color and sex, from what ive read is that males have the deeper color than female. But im thinking its 2 early to tell since they are only juvies. Which makes me wonder about whether they are like other fish that only start to show good deep color once they reach their adulthood. Ill try and take some photos tomorrow for comparison.
Those with the not complete bar looks like Boraras merah. But still who knows, maybe they will get the full bars as they grow.
I cant wait till they grow up more and are ready to spawn, ive read plenty of people having luck with getting some fry out of them.
