New camera, new pictures (56kWARNING)

I really want to wait until the glosso grows in completely before I enter that tank. You all might be surprised to know that the discus tank is a mostly low tech tank. I almost never add co2 and very rarely add excel. I only add trace elements after water changes and I usually use only 96w of light even though there is 442 watts available in the fixture.
I tried to keep this tank high tech but the discus don't like the co2 or nitrates so I cut the light and went low tech. Its been a bout 2 months and so far no algae and decent plant growth.

Well, I for sure know that Im out of the running for Photo of the Month... :( lol

Great pics! ;) :)

Art in life

Beautiful pictures!! What kind of camera are you using? I have never seen such clear and crisp pictures, especially when I take pictures.....

Congrats on the beautiful fish as well. :headbang2:

Yeah....I'm sitting here just droolin' over these pictures....Canon what? I have to know make, model....etc! Of course...you're probably a professional photographer and if I buy the same camera, I'll probably get crappy shots! Anyways, I LOVE the discus tank....that is exactly what I hope and dream to do some day....if you have time to explain exactly what you do to keep it so nice and the plants so gorgeous...I'm all ears! Kim

The camera.
I am a professional photographer but.
This camera is a canon point and shoot. I have yet to switch to digital in the pro equipment but I plan on ordering a canon SLR camera very soon but those are $1000 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/397314-REG/Canon_0296B002_EOS_5D_Digital_Camera.htmland up this one was only $300 "canon power shot SD750"http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/484779-REG/Canon_2239B001_PowerShot_SD750_Digital_Elph.html

The thing is you need a macro setting.

As far as the discus tank I've said before that is actually a low tech tank. I started off pumping co2 into that tank with fertilizers and lots of light. Now I run minimal light and the plants stay healthy. I add trace elements after every water change, which is a lot since I do 80% WC every other day to every third day but thats it. I have two tanks that do get co2 and grow fast and lush but fast is the problem.
This is my 38g apisto/angel tank just after a trim.

I will post a more recent picture to show you the speed of the growth.
This picture was taken on 9/02

Let me know if you have any specific questions.

This is two weeks of growth. I wish I knew what the settings were on the camera so I could match the pictures exactly but I did my best.
Enjoy!
