Technically lamprologine cichlids would not be considered mbuna. They also aren't the best fishes to mix with mbuna as the two have vastly different diets in terms of the amount of vegetation eaten. N. tretocephalus is more of a carnivore and the mbuna are generally more vegetarian, so you run the risk of Malawi bloat occurring if you try to cater to the N. tretocephalus.

See? This is why I love this place... ^__^ I'd love some suggestions as to some blue and yellow varieties of the Mbuna cichlid type that would work well together. All the different varieties are overwhelming me!!! I think I'll make my own topic, tho. No need in hijacking this one. :P
