New Cichlids.. Rubbing Against Rocks

Does anyone think it is because he added too many fish at one time. That is a lot of fish for a brand new tank in a short period of time. The bacteria didn't have time to adjust to ammonia levels. Could be a burning sensation for the fish and that is why they are rubbing themselves.

Err um I did mention ammonia burn, however, the petland bio-ball idea usually compensates well. Petand keeps live bio-balls in their tank, and reccomends x number per gallon of water to go home with your fish. this puts a ready made bio-filter in the tank with the fish and takes away the danger of uncycled tanks.
[/QUOTE]could somebody explain to me what (fishless cycle ) means
