new corals

Here are some new coral frags i got yesterday, they are not fully bright yet because they may be still adjusting. one is a sun coral the other is xenia and the third is a kenya tree coral.

the xenia is in the first pic behind the sun coral, it is not doing as well as the other two.

The sun coral is gorgeous. I've been looking at reds/oranges to put some more color in my tank, I'll have to see about getting sun coral.

thanks, the picture does not do the coral justice. It really ties the tank together, one of my favorite.

Try putting the sun coral in a slight cave. They prefer the darker area of the tank and the majority usually come out at night!

yeah i heard they like it darker. I will put it in my cave. Where would the best spot for the xena's be?

I have mine quite high up but my lighting isn't that strong (yet!). They are also in quite a high current but not being blasted!! they'll soon let you know when they're not happy!

Xenia, ironically, is a tougher coral to keep. I disrupted my sandbed recently, and have had all sorts of nitrate problems, and my xenia is the only coral that shows any effect.

looking great! i agree that sun coral will need some shade cause they are not photosynthetic.
make sure u feed it a lot as well.

Nope! I hear you have to feed those guys all the time. Hard coral to keep too.

The tree, though...that should be easy.
