new cory! but what cory???

It's definitely a peppered, mine have large green spots too, as well as the dark peppered blotches. Very cute!! (needs some buddies!!)

He may be stunted. I'm not sure, but that is very small for a full grown peppered, which he is. Dunno, but I am so glad he is happy!

oh don't you worry, he has 9 cory buddies in the tank with him now - 4 bronze, 1 emerald, 2 albino, and 2 barbatus. me thinks he's claimed the emerald for his new wife already, lol!

he could be stunted. as far as i know his previous owner only had him, no other cories, and although i know he lived in a tank that was 20 something gallons (can't remember exactly the size prev owner said), i don't know what his diet was, he's approx a year old, and original source was her hubby's fishy friend. i have a hunch he most likely hid a lot due to having no other cories to keep him company and as a result may not have eaten enough, hence the small size.

main reason i asked was because the previous owner didn't know and i told her i'd find out for her. and it is kinda nice to know what fish are in your own tank, lol!

(hands Dangerdoll a buck)

after more googling and looking at numerous photos, he is definitely looking 'peppery' to me. what threw me off initially was the size, he's so much smaller than the species profiles state for peppereds. and the iridescent splotchiness, it seemed way too vivid for a peppered.

Mine and other's peppered cory's I have seen are quite a bit smaller than bronze cories.
I believe they top out at about 1.5".
