New Dwarf Gouramis

gouramis tend to not like each other. not sure if the aggression will subside or not. Give them a couple days and see. I would highly recommend rearranging th tank so that they have to re-establish boundaries. I did this when I noticed aggression between my DG and blue ram. Helped out a ton!

Good advice

I actually recieved that same advice from my LFS right after I posted this, and it really does work. Anytime my fish seem a little aggressive I do this and it helps. Thanks for the post. This helped me and I hope others find this helpful.

Beautiful fish. I love gouramis. :)
What kind of camera are you using?

Gouramis tend to not get along - ever - unless there are just a few in a pretty large tank. In addition to having rearranged the stuff, you may want to add more stuff - big plants help block lines of sight. This may or may not help... You may have to return some of them (before they get thoroughly abused is preferable).

I am using a Nikon D50.

My gouramis have got along fine ever since that first day when I rearranged the tank. They do not fight other than an occasional fin nip. They each have just marked out part of the tank as theirs. I have a 55gal so there is room for them to do that. The goldies tend to stay near the top, the flame stays in the plants on the left, one turquoise has the cave, another behind the cave structure and the last turquoise stays at the other end of the tank. They also leave my school of cardinal tetras alone. I have 11 of them and the gouramis leave them alone. Everyone plays nice.

Glad to hear it, and I hope it stays that way. My DG leaves my Cardinals, Black Neons and Otos alone. He sometimes bothers the serpae & phantom tetras, but he saves most of his aggression for my Angel (that's twice his size!). Some days he's peaceful, other days....
