New fish at PetSmart?

Hmm I like my PaetSmart a lot and it is pretty decent for a chain. I would love to see them carry more inverts. Ours only has Ghost shrimp (.32 ea) and last time I was there they had a "Marble Shrimp" for $12.00!

Wow, I leave for 4 days and discover my store chain is getting new fish? YAY! We've been getting in tags for the rasboras and I think a new cichlid but so far thats it. We also just got some Cardinal Tetras (oh man, one of my ex-co-workers was pissed because we got them a month after he quit), Twinbar Platies and Acei (sp?) Cichlids. We also now can sell rabbits!
Compliments are always a good thing, especially from a forum/site like this where everyones opinion is held in such high regard. Unfortunately normally any advice I give or refusing to sell a fish is met by "God, this fish will be fine, you are so stupid why are you working here?" (particular customer wanted to put 3 baby tiger oscars in a 20G because "they're so small, surely you're lying about them being really big"

^Really? Our PetSmart has had cardinals as long as I can remember.. the demand is so high, that they're kept in two separate tanks. They also permanently started carrying the acei, twinbar platies, and honey sunset gouramis recently. =]

I have nearby PetSmart, Pet Supermarket, PetCo, Walmart (with fish) and 2 LFS non-chains....of ALL of them the only one I will buy fish from is PetSmart. I wish they would special order though. I ended up buying a rubberlip pleco because I could not find a bristlenose anywhere and noone would special order them, and I did not want to pay for shipping. Anyhow, I go to PetSmart at least once a week, if nothing more than just to look around. It always has the cleanest tanks, largest variety, healthy fish and friendly, helpful staff. Every other store I go into always has issues with dirty tanks, sick fish, dead fish, ignorant staff (some places I have to even hunt down a staff member to assist me) and not very big selections. One of the LFS's is so bad that the shelves were even so dusty that it triggered my allergies *yuck*.

Mine recently got some Dojo Loaches, I picked up 2 of them today for $8.99.

my petsmart is very good, too. i have listened to them talk to customers, and they do their best to make sure the fish are going to a proper home. one lady even checked to make sure the fantail goldfish i bought wasn't going into my 55g angel tank that i had been talking to her about. when i asked why there were small comets in all the tropical tanks, the lady informed me that they had a bad pond snail outbreak and the goldfish had been recruited as temporary exterminators. i thought it was great that they put the fish to work instead of adding chemicals to the system.

Wow, really? Mine has carried dojos for years. They used to sell huge striped dojos for only 2.99 each, but have recently discontinued carrying them. =[ They do still have the goldens though (which I'm assuming is what you got).

Our PetSmart is very good. It's probably what put the LFS out of business, but they deserved it. Independent stores aren't always better.
