whats up people? i bought a yellow watchman goby and a pistol shrimp as a pair yesterday. i put them in last night and they will not come out. they are under a rock and will not come out for anything, they seem so scared

so my question is, is this normal until they get adjusted to their new home?

Even tho I am a fw person, Im pretty sure that this goes for all fish. They can be shy for the first few days after adding them. Check your water parameters (salinity, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates) just to be sure tho.. Hopefully some sw ppl will chime in soon..

Sounds normal to me, since you just got them. Just to be on the safe side, what is your SG, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH? What size is your tank? How did you acclimate the goby and shrimp?

Yep, thats pretty much my thoughts too...If they are in a symbiotic relationship, all it takes is for the shrimp to find a hidden place to create the burrow, and the watchman will follow...Also, it has been known for these to situate themselves in a hidden corner, out of the normal visual viewing area...

Just give them some time to settle, should be fine..

thanks for the replys, water perameters are perfect and i just tried feeding the goby and he didnt ever show himself...
they are both in my tank somewhere, i just dont know where
