New fish

Actually, I was guess I was pressing on the shift button... Didn't see that I put in 2 inches instead of 2' (2 feet)

Ok nevermind then....hope we don't get any fish that will kill another one.

The Plecos do get huge, much tooo big for a 55, and I (on the advice of the experts here), reluctantly rehomed two of mine knowing that both they and my other fish will be better off for it. They aren't just fish... they should be pets. You're adding to a tank that is already overstocked with a semi-aggresive cichlid. No regrets?

If there's going to be stubborness over the advice of experince, then there's no need to ask a question, I don't think that's what is happening here though. There is an attachment to that pleco because ya'll have had it for a while, but I think you would agree it's the life of the pleco that should be any fish keepers interest. And with that in mind, I say this about the Pleco(Not whether or not your over crowding, I have no Idea) Let it stay in your tank as long as it really fits. Once it gets too big, give it a better home. It's important that you make an objective judgment call on that matter.

It may take a while for it to get too big when it's stunted in a 55, but it shouldn't take THAT long. I don't agree with stunting fish. I hope you're able to add another tank soon. You obviously love your fish.

Side note: I was going to put a largemouth bass in my 30g but thought I should go to a 55g instead. It didn't take much research to find out that I may NEVER get to have my beloved largemouth bass because they shouldn't be housed in anything under a 150g....and that's a stretch.....Bummer.

Nvm that post didn't notice there was another page of comments.

Thats a good point Hatcher, and it should be considered. I don't know how small that pleco is or even how fast they grow. That should be found out before making a decision.

Robad thanks for the advice. I think I will handle this with my mom and her bf when they get back home monday. Maybe they will understand. After thinking about the way you just put it robad I think I can handle giving it up.
HN I didn't think 1 cichlid would overstock the tank. I would like more feedback on HNs comment. Because if I am overstocked I defenitely won't get any more fish.
