New fish

I do not have any kois. I have a black moor, 3 comet and one common. No room for a 75 gallon. 65, 10 gallon, and 5 gallon is what I have the 2 fish will not stay in these tank they are hospital tanks. The mane tank is my 65 bow tank gallon that there really home. I forgot to say, that I was healing the two fishes they will go back home soon, they were sick.

sorry but the goldfish in the 65 looked like kois to me..... just please stick with two goldfish in a 65... not fair for the fish to be stuffed in a small tank just for human likings.... you wouldnt want to be put in a 6 foot by 6 foot bathroom with 4 other people.. would you?

Goldfish are silent killers, they will slowly add ammonia to your tank and kill everything. I you want a goldfish keep lots of plants and you need a 55+ gallon tank.

This far from being true, Please stop giving advice.

looks like it, but still to small for all those goldfish she has.
Depends on how you look at it. If you are thinking the life span of the fish, possibly. The fish she has will be fine in there for now and thrive with proper filter maint and water changes.

Why is it everyone has to hammer people that have goldfish/fish that get large with "OMG!!! You need this size tank, blah blah blah" let them enjoy their fish..

They sure aint gunna get full sized over night, or in a yr..

LBF - I have an above ground pound in my back yard with 6 10" Koi ( there is no s on the end singular and plural are spelled Koi, just like Deer) 3 4" comets, 2 common Plecos and a breeding pair of Jewels, the koi have been in there 2 yrs. By your thoughts I should have them in a 20,000 gallon pond. They are fine, they are healthy....

To Amy:

That large tank is acceptable for your goldfish so long as you get more filtration. So long as the fish aren't being blown around, you can't have enough filtration for goldfish. The Black Moor (Midnight) will grow to be about 10 inches long, but would be accepting of a 30 gallon tank minimum with just one of them. You should put all of your fish into the largest tank and then all of the filters as well. Then I recommend an Eheim Classic Filter (or 3) to be an added filtration for the fish.

Please, for the sake of the fish, listen to the advice of the people of AC. They have been fishkeeping for many years, and have much good advice to give.

A note on store labeling; most places (from what I've seen) label based on what they are selling at that time not what the creature in question will eventually become. In other words, when it says 4" Black Moor it means they are selling a 4" Black Moor. The adult size is rarely listed and most places only sell juvenile fish, so you can usually expect anything you buy to grow at least some.

I'd say your probably fine with the 65 at least temporarily but remember that goldfish are both "coldwater" fish (temps max out at 70F I believe) and are sometimes called "dirty" which really just means they put out more waste than you would expect for a fish their size. Both items are easily dealt with, with a thermometer and good filtration, water changes, and common sense maintenance.

Good luck, and enjoy your new buddies! :D
