New from Brooklyn, New York

I’ve been lurking as a guest for a while and I couldn’t resist, decided to join. I’ve received an informal welcome by rbishop in the classified ad section of the forum. So I thought I’d make it official and say hello to everyone.
I love the community, very knowledgeable.
I always had an aquarium as a child and loved the hobby. Years later it resurfaced and well, here I am. I live in Brooklyn, New York and hope to exchange ideas and techniques with the local natives along with everyone else in this community.

I’m starting from scratch so I’m looking forward to all the great times ahead along with the trying moments.

I don't know which direction you're going, but there's a great group of local reefers in your area @ www.manhattanreefs.com.

As a matter of fact, I was just in Brooklyn last weekend picking up my anemone from a guy.

Subliminal, that’s awesome. I kept a saltwater aquarium in my small animal care class back in high school. I loved every minute of it. Hell, I still have my old hydrometer.
However, I am leaning towards a planted aquarium for now, a carefully designed planted aquarium.
I was at a LFS in Jackson Heights that specializes in salt water aquariums. They all looked so beautiful that I almost purchased the equipment to get started, boy was that close.
