New gourami, stressed? or what?

it's also possible that the fish had some medical problem before you got it, and it is just manifesting now. You see fish acting like this all the time in the tanks of the more questionable (I can't say any names, or they will get edited) fish stores.

I think 2 drops per gallon is pretty easy to dose, but in any case...

I know I'm asking the same questions again, but trying to spark your memory...

have you stuck your hands in the tank after washing with soap? putting on lotion? isn't this tank on your desk (in an office)? could maintenance have sprayed an air freshener? I don't know if you're a man or woman sooo this could be awkward, but do you have perfume on your wrists ever? makeup residue on your fingers?

2 drops per gallon with the Prime you mean? I have a big bottle, I use the cap to dose for the 29 gal, not sure how to measure drops?

He's on my desk at home, husband says he didn't spray anything, neither did I. Washed my hands before setting up the tank, and they haven't been in since.

Sigh. I got him at one of those stores. :( But they're usually really good, I've gotten fish there before and they're fine, and the employees are really good. Guess you can't be sure though.

You could get a medicine dropper. I use a small bottle of prime for my small tanks so I can dropper it straight out of the bottle (the big bottles don't have that option.) When I run out of the small bottle, i just fill it back up from a big bottle so I can keep using it as a dropper.

That's good to know, I would prefer to use Prime, I trust it. :) So I drop per gallon? Thanks!

lol... a 'drop' is quite variable... I got this little syringe from my vet to measure.... for 5 gal, if I remember right, you need 1/2 ml/cc

Some droppers have a scale on the side of the tube

I use 2 drops per gallon. That's what the bottle says anyways. I know it's not very exact, but I figure I'll err on the side of too much Prime since it's really hard to OD prime. I just haven't gotten around to getting a syringe from a vet or finding one myself or anything.
