New heater/filter...

A lot of people on these forums swear by Aquaclear filters, which is why I purchased mine. Penguins are also good quality, so no problem there.

I got the stuff in today! The filter is set up and running. Luckily for me, the filter media from my old Regent brand filter fits perfectly in the new Penguin BioWheel 350, so I didnt even have to worry about floating it or anything. It's working wonderfully, and is very quiet thus far.

I didn't put the heater in yet because I'm out of town tonight and tomorrow and I won't be around and make sure its working properly or to slowly bring up the temp a little at a time. I'll be doing that tomorrow night when I'm home again.

I also got the API master test kit and tested today before I left. My water params are perfect! Yay!

New stuff is exciting! The next step...get the 10 gallon equipped and running in my office :-)

Okay, I put the new heater in tonight. I inherited my aquarium when I moved into my home, and it didnt have a heater on it at all. However, I did find an old HOB heater in a bag of fish stuff that was left with the tank. I've been using it for a while but it just wasnt enough to keep up. The tank stayed around 70 degrees on a regular basis.

The Stealth is in and set to 72 now. How often should I increase the temp? Do I let it sit a while at 72 before moving, or can I just keep pushing it every step of the way?

Thanks!
