New here. How many gallons per hour?

I have a 29g tank with a 10g sump that will be home to 5 African cichlids, how many gph do I need to turnover? Also, the total line from sump to main tank is around 7', what size of pump do I need.

with a wet/dry (trickle filter), I usually only bother with 3x the tank volume per hour. A lot of people disagree with me, but I have several tanks with a high bio load that the filter keeps their nitrite/ammonia at 0. That's proof enough for me.

Well I have 850 GPH on my 55 gallon tank. I usually over do it a little.

And type of filtration There is a lot of variables that go into flow rate
