Hey from NYC everybody 
I'm not totally new to aquariums but it's been a few years, can't wait to get started. I'm finally back on it.
I'm currently trawling craigslist and freecycle for a 55gal for a couple of fancy goldfish as our main tank. I'd like a planted tank but with the goldfish, who knows. Also starting up a mini-tank for my 2-yr-old (what's a good starter fish? Gouramis?) and a 30gal for my husband who's never had a fish (what's wrong with him). He wants that blue hammond's lobster crayfish thing.
I've been lurking on this forum and it seems like a neat community; looking forward to gobbling up your pearls of wisdom. But what are SAE?
