Hi all,

It's been a while since I've required your assistance but the time has come again to rely on this great forum.
I'm struggling with getting the water parameters correct on this tank. Our old house was in Baltimore on city water (PH 7.0/NH3 0/NO2 0/NO3 10/GH 6/KH 3) I used pressurized Co2 to push the PH down to around 6.5. Lights 40watts over 35 gallons. The new house is in PA with a well (PH 6.5/NH3 0/NO2 0/NO3 20/GH 5.5/KH 0) In the old house the plants would grow great (easy low light plants Java Moss, Amazon swords, Crypts) no algea constant trimming. In this house I have not added co2 because of the KH I'm affraid of a PH crash and the plants are not growing causing me great Algea problems. Should I start with adding some Crushed coral to raise the KH and then adding the Co2?

Thanks in advance

Add two tbsps. of crushed coral and give it a week or so and test for content. You may need to add more, but give it time to work and see.
Nice soft water. You will like it once you get some kH.
