Well I should have the keys to my new house on Monday or Tuesday. Really could pass up the incredible deals to buy right now. The place is Bank owned so I'm going to have to replace all of the flooring and do a little remodeling.

In the family room it currently has a corner wet bar. Now I don't see any reason to keep a wet bar that is 10 feet from the kitchen as I have about 2-3 drinks per month and my wife doesn't drink. I'm planning on tearing the thing out.

Since the plumbing is there and my wife has expressed interested in a corner planted guppy tank in that spot (~50 gallons), I think I might be able to plumb a water changing system. :evil_lol: I would also like to be able to use it to change my 125 gallon tank in the living room.

So does anyone have any suggestions of how to set this up? I was thinking I might want to install a little access door. That way I could use it to fill up and drain the 125 until I get the corner tank to cover it.

I'm thinking I'll need a mixture spigot to adjust the water temperature with and a p-trap and cap on the drain. I also worry about spilling any water (or dripping water from the hoses inside of the wall. I've also got hardwood floors going in underneath of the tanks. I worry about damage from water on those as well. Water on wood + weight = disaster.

Tearing out the wet bar is on the first things that I will do so that I can get the new flooring put in. So I'll need to have figured out what I am going to do by next Thursday or Friday.

sweet.. good luck on the install

Wish I had a similar set up to mod.

Nice! You can get a mixing valve that you set for a certain temp and it will automatically adjust the hot and cold to maintain that temp. It also has check valves in it to prevent back-flow so you don't get a cold shower. I would hook up some sort of funnel in the drain area to stick a siphon hose into for gravel vacuuming as well. Putting it all behind an access door sounds like a good plan.

sounds like a great project. good luck on the mods. btw, do you have any pics of your 125 goldfish tank? I have been dying to see it, but I cant find pics of it???
