I recently purchased a Coralife 28 watt fixture for a ten gallon that I'd like to plant. It came with a 50/50 bulb..(daylight 10k and actinic blue). My question is this....do I need to replace the bulb? Will my plant be able to utilize the actinic blue light or do I need to replace it with a different bulb? Thanks
Kyle

I would do as Len suggested.
The problem is that the actinic blue spectrum/phosphors burns out quicker (quite a bit quicker so I've read) so the bulb is only useful at the initial output for a much shorter period of time.

I ordered the coralife fixture along with a 6500k bulb. If you can't find one around your area, I would order the bulb seperately ASAP as the 36000k bulb is not suited for freshwater plants.

If you have trouble ordering that specific tube from Coralife, try using a 32 (36?) w bulb. It's the same bulb, just a different amount of watts passed through the balast.
