I have a question regarding the ah supply bright kits i am about to purchase for my 55 Gallon tank. I have 2 - 24" plastic hood fixtures which i plan on retro fitting with the 2x55 Watt Bright Kit. Since i have 2 separate hoods, can i get away with using the 2x55 watt kit with one ballast, or should i get two separate 1x55 watt kits? I guess i could mount the ballast on the back of one of the hoods, and then just run the wiring out the back of the other hood and connect to it. Does anyone have experience with retro fitting these bright kits on a 55 Gallon tank with two separate hoods? And is there any issue with mounting the ballast on the back of a typical plastic lighting hood? Any help would be appreciated.
