New Marine Tank

OOOOOOOooooo......NICE fish !!

On the cc......keep it for now, but if you do decide to go sand....use an agonite based sand. And...if you do go with LR....or even reef later....you can make a nice refugium out of an aquaclear 110 HOB. Just silicone a baffle between the impellor and the "tank" part. I have one on a 20long (aquaclear 70) and it works fantastic !

I don't have a protein skimmer either (too expensive)....I just blow the tank out really well each week along with a wc. I put a filter pad over the outlet of the fuge to catch all the junk while I'm cleaning the tank....after everything settles out I remove the filter pad, rinse it off in the old tank water and set it aside to use next week.

Here's a link to the site where I got the idea about the fuge..... http://www.wetwebmedia.com/hagenrefugart.htm

Bookmark that....hehe...you may want it later..... :D

if your new they not the easiest to keep, and they can be hateful SOB's.. I had 3 of them and never will buy'm again

I read a lot about them and seem to see highly varied experiences with them. Some claimed they are easy to keep, some claimed they are hit or miss. I guess one big problem with them is acclimation. When i first put him in the tank, he hid for a full day, I was getting kinda worried, but now he's out and about, eating all my algae. Hopefully he works out. He was too nice of a fish not to give him a try.

EDIT: Could the aggressiveness be from having 3 of them in the tank?

Thanks, i'll read into that. :)

I also picked up a visi-therm heater (I was sick of the el-cheapo I had needing constant attention), and a Penguin power head. The clowns absolutely love the new water current generated by it, but the angel doesn't seem to really give a crap.

I knew the butterfly would be a risk (getting him to eat) but he's doing surprisingly well and eating brine and mysis shrimp already, as well as picking at the live rock.

Also, theres gonna be a point where the sailfin needs a larger tank.. I'll prob just shoot for a 100-125g when that day comes.
