New Mudskipper pics :)

OMG!!! They just sit there on their little wet paper towel perch... in their little bag... just going for a ride.... nothing to it....with those solemn little faces....

I'd have a wreck.... I tell ya.... someone else would have to drive for me, lol.

:D

Which is EXACTLY why the plastic bag goes INTO a paper bag!

Well... then maybe I could make the drive without looking at them the whole way home. If I had some of those little guys I couldn't take my eyes off them.

Your pics are just incredible!! :headbang2:
"Feeding time at the zoo" just cracks me up, :grinyes: poor crickets, but theirs is a noble sacrifice: to die for sake of a mudskipper.:evil_lol:

:)

Moko, how do you feed them? Mine likes to eat krill but we tried to feed him crickets and they swam away and hid.

I get the really TINY crickets & just toss them in.
A few of them will climb on the plants or whatever, but the skippers eventually find them :)

Have you tried frozen bloodworms or frozen brine shrimp?
Mine LOVE those, & I just put some in the palm of my hand & they climb on & help themselves :)

Are you loving him?? :)

How many would you recommend in a 30 gallon? I'm surveying my options (of course I change my mind almost every week) ;) I read somewhere that 6 4" ones could be kept in it but I wanted your opinion as someone that actually has them :) Also is it very hard to clean up after them?

I can't really recommend anything as far as stocking.
I would say at least 99% of posters on here think my 40 gal breeder is way overstocked :(
All I know is what is working for me, & that my skippers have everything they need, & then some.
I have absolutely NO aggression issues or fighting
All 10 have their own "perches", and feeding spots

If I did run into any issues in the future, I'm quite prepared to resolve it, whatever that takes.
I have a empty 20 long I could set up in 20 min, if I needed to, but I will continue to keep them all together as long as it's working :)

As far as picking up after them, believe it or not, I couldn't even tell you what their poop looks like, as I've never seen any :)

I use an internal filter which I rinse the media once a week
I also change 50 % of their water once a week

I guess my point is you have to find what works for the skippers & for yourself.
I just took the long road to saying it! :D

LOL thanks a lot. Whether it's overstocked or not isn't the point of your skipper habitat, IMO. I mean, obviously your skippers are very happy and you're providing for them very well even if it's not the traditional number you should keep in that size tank (which I don't know if it is or not :)). It's so easy to say somethings wrong when you aren't the one dealing with it. Maybe they think it is overstocked for a different, larger type of skipper than you have?

Thank you a ton for your response. Skippers seem so comical :) Now I have to do some research. I can't tell you how many fish I've researched before deciding that I like something else just a little more LOL!
