New. Need advice, opinions, Comments!

I'm sorry your ram died. They are notoriously finicky. It was probably due to stress. Fish, if they are not tank raised, get caught in the wild, shipped to wholesalers, shipped to pet stores, then brought home to someone's tank. That is a lot of change for a little creature in a short time. Some fish just dont do well with it and are harder to keep alive. Generally if your water is good and you can get them past the first month, then they're good for their life. Good luck with the rest of your fish!

I read that the rainbow fish will school with other groups, if only a pair is introduced?
Was that false info? They do seem to school a bit with the harlequins?

We have just moved our bearded dragon to another room, so now we have a large space for a big tank. I'm going to save up for a while and get a big corner tank, so when the rainbow fish get a bit bigger I could move them to that and I will get a school then?

That's a nice tank, and a nice puppy! Sorry to hear your ram died. I assume you are doing weekly partial water changes and gravel vacs? It will .be a challenge not to mix up the gravel with the sand when you clean your gravel, but I really like the look. And I agree with the above, praecox are schooling fish and don't really mix with other species. If you are going to get a bigger tank though, you'll probably be fine for awhile.
