Peat Advocate & Defender Of Snails
I have all but given up on corys. Every time I get them they either die within a few days or seem to do well for almost a few months but then just suddenly up and die for no reason.
And as you know, I am not a newbie, nor am I someone who doesn't seriously know what he is doing in general with fishkeeping. I have successfully kept almost every species I have ever set out to keep except for the corys - which are ironically supposed to be some of the hardiest fish available. I provide them with near perfect water conditions, properly gradual acclimation, consistent water changes and substrate cleanings, and good quality bottom feeder pellets. They just refuse to live for me. Ever.
In fact just yesterday I bought three adolfis and today they are all dead. Yet the rams and angels I bought are colorful,, active and seem to have taken to their new home quite well.
I'm going to try one more group next week. Probably plain old greens; and if they all die, I'm finished with corys forever. There's my story.
