Hi, I recently got a new penguin 150B. I used to run a tiny whisper, and even though its filtering was lackadaisial (lack of room, poor flow rate, smallness, cheapnesss etc.) its pump was silent. Now this 150 can be heard from across my small bedroom, the motor hum. Its not anything extremely aggrivating, just a smooth low hum that can be heard somewhat far away. Is this what you all experience too? This is ssupposed to be an improvemment over the old series, wonder if anyone thinks its too loud? My tank is filled all the way.

Penguin 200

I just got the new style Penguin 200 for my 46g bowfront. I don't notice any motor hum, but the water splash is very annoying. Don't know if it's normal or not. I love the Bio-Wheel for biological filtration, though.

The motor hum is probably covered up by the water splash. Unless the tank is filled up to or very close to the rim the bio-wheels will splash. Also, the first few days will be somehwat noisy till it becomes waterlogged.
