I bought a gorgeous peppermint pleco friday night (4 days ago). I have not noticed him moving at all around the tank nor eating. He remains hidden under a rock cave all the time. I have never seen him anyplace but there. I sink a blanched zuchinni everynight and spike it with shrimp pellets, but he isn't touching it. My little albino bristle nose nibbles it, but not the peppermint. I even place it right under his rock (he can still get out from under it). I read the sticky on feeding a pleco and it's fantastic.

Am I panicking and just need to give him more time to adjust?

Just in case anyone ask...75 gallons, it's a cycled tank.. ammonia 0, nitrite 0, and nitrate 10, ph stable around 7.8, a few live plants and the rest silk. Natural gravel, tank mates-2 small blood parrots, 5 boesmanni rainbows, 4 emperor tetras, 3 small clown loaches, 3 hillstream loaches and the albino bushy nose.(and yes, I know the parrots and clown loaches will outgrow it...there is a 150 gallon coming this spring, I'm waiting until after we lay new carpet to upgrade the tank...less tank to move)

oops-forgot to add that their is a very large piece of driftwood in there if Peppermint Patty has a hankering for wood. ;)
Thank you everyone!

I don't have any experience with the pepermint but i recently lost a L168 showing similar symptoms. Try a variety of foods form the sticky, PH may be slightly high @ 7.8.
Some plecs take a while to adjust to their new surroundings.

How's his/her belly looking?
Maybe try posting same question on www.plecofanatics.com
