New pic and my sea pen

There is a plastic tube holding your sea pen, will you get rid of it?
no the tube provides the 14 inches of sand it needs to bury itself every day. it is filled with fine sand for it due to the fact that i couldnt provide a 14 inche sand bed.

FIRST OFF I WOULD LIKE TO SAY YOUR AN IDIOT!!! :mad2:

to think that you could take a magnifacent creature like that out of the wild and treat it with the dignity that it deserves is ludacris. It's a animal and its has rights! blah de blah de blah!!!!

Crap Crap - hoot holler scream cry!...

lol... jk I think its awesome that you took this project on and I don't know anyone better fitted to do it.

It really looks great and think your doing a great job! Just thought I'd give you a taste of what this post might have looked like without your "flamer disclaimer"

lmao! i was like WTF! and then OH! u got me man...

With more and more of coral reefs bleaching due to environmental changes, I believe we should make attempts to raise all types of corals in artificial reef systems, because in 50 years, it may be illegal to take corals from the ocean, assuming they're still around. So no one should ever persecute any educated individual for attempting to house a known "impossible in captivity."

With that said, good luck :) Keep us updated.

I agree, The reefs are worth saving and If we can preserve life in our tanks we should do it...

However, I think life has proven itself resilient to changes and I think the reef is very adaptable in the long run…

I personally think global warming is a trend rather than a man made change (even though I think we help for sure) I think that the balance will be found again but who knows when…

I wouldn’t worry about the SAVE THE REEF movement, But I am also all for restrictions on farming, etc…

This sea pen is just another example of how we can all contribute… Who knows, maybe reefers will be the ones to save the world, one coral at a time

what exactly is a sea pen? lol this ones new to me. Im assuming its a invert.
its is a coral. they are very unique they bury them self at day and feed at night. they posses no zooxanthellea(symbiotic algae) and rely on plankton for food. they need deep sand(thus the pipe) and are well just an odd ball really. if u like i have an entire 4 page essay i wrote on them as an overview.
