Added A pictus to My tank yesterday and he sure is aggressive. Ramming my ID shark( only holding it for a little while I know I cant house it) in the head and it now has a spot on its head. Wont eat the big ball of live tubifex worms squirming around on the ground and is acting extremely erratic. I Think my tetras are afraid to eat now that hes around too or maybe Its something else.

Normal Behavior? Also I doubt the red tail shark I plan on getting will put up with his bully behavior so will they fight or will he calm down? Water parameters are fine.

edit- Maybe Its because He is the only Catfish and they are schoaling(sp) fish?

that might be one of the reasons, how big is your tank? i hope its 48 in +. hiding areas? in my experience they tend to be very shy, especially without large, dark places to hide. i would let it settle for a few days before drawing any major conclusions. if you have room you might consider a few more too. good luck!

Yeah, they are schooling fish and like LOTS of room. I have 4 pictus and 3 P. blochii in a 6' tank and they use every inch.

Only 29g for now, 55g very soon but it has Plenty of hiding spaces (Basically built for bottom dwelling fish) and today he seems to have gotten use to the tank. He has claimed 2 hiding places and has been cleaning the tank and my only worry now is when I get the red tail and they fight over a territory.

Cant see it that well but there is room behind the decorations/drift wood and the plants are arranged in a way that lets the fake log lead into the area behind the wood. Plus the vase is a small cave in itself.
