I just got back from my ten day trip to see my family, and am ready to put some of my plans into practice. My fish all survived, and have recovered from the ich that they were being treated for since a couple of days before the trip--about two weeks of salt and a higher temp (86). The current numbers are 0 nitrites, 0 ammonia, and 5 nitrates--I did do a 50% water change and gravel cleaning immediately after returning and tested the water this morning. I'm waiting for another week before adding any more fish or making any dramatic changes--but I have some questions about my proposed plan for my two tanks.
Both of my tanks have low light plants, but the light is very low--I just bought a new 65w light for the tank I have flourite and eco-complete in, and am planning on putting both 15w lights on a glass top on the other tank.
My plan is this:
Turn my tiger barb tank into a heavily planted tank with my Gourami (avatar), and five bronze cory cats. I want to put in 6-8 harliquin or espii rasboras, and two or three otos(unless you think that is pushing it). I'd like to do diy co2 and use the flourish line of fertilizers.
I will put the school of tiger barbs in the low light tank along with the driftwood with java fern. I'd like to get some kind of snail(s) or shrimp for this tank, but the barbs are very nippy(hence the species only tank).
The questions I have are:

The questions I have are:
- Do these stocking plans seem feasible?
- What order ought these shifts take place?
I thought to (1) Move the barbs into my ten gallon tank with the 20 gallon filter and heater with some of the rocks and driftwood and half of the water, 2) drain another five gallons of the water, 3) Plant new plants, and organize hiding places for skittish corys, 4)slowly add five gallons of fresh water. 5) add corys and gourami to planted tank with ten gallons of their water 6) organize remaining tank for barbs (more open space to swim) 7) add barbs and new snail - How much time between each addition (snails, plants, lights, fish)?
- When should I have the diy co2 ready--right away when I add the plants and fish or is it all right to wait until I add the rasboras?
