I redid my tank on 4-7-05. 30'' wide 18'' length, 21 '' height 50 gallon

I have 2-55Watt CF with 1-20Watt T-8 bulbs on 13 hours a day.

I run a Penquin Bio Wheel 300/330?

I run air pump 3-8am daily on a timer.

I added potting soil as the base, 1'' or so along with some of my original gravel for the bacteria and added 1-2'' of Flourite on top of that for a total of 2.5-3'' total.

I added a bunch of plants. It looked great the 1st 4-5 days.

20-Dwarf Sag

12-16 Money Wort

12-16 Rotala Indica

12-16 Ludwigia, Needleleaf

12-16 Didiplis Diandra

3 Anubia Nana 3-4''

1- Java Fern Microsorium pteropus

3- Java Fern Microsrium pteropus

6 pcs. driftwood

Fish, I have: 5-6 Neon Tetra, 5 X-Ray Tetra, 3-Angelfish, 1 Fancy Guppie

I just added 4 Black Mollies, 4 Hatchet Fish and 6 Ghost Shrimp yesterday.

Here is my current chart:

PH 7.4-7.6

Nitrite 0

Ammonia 0-.25

KH 3 drops got me to 53.7 whis is low

GH 13 Drops-off the chart high 232.7

Nitrate 40-80 PPM I swear I can't tell what color red it is!!!

My KH was low so I added 2 tablespoons of Baking soda dissolved in tap water to get that up to 60DH

I noticed on what I think is the Ludwigia Peruensis that I'm getting Yellowing along with browning and some black areas.

I went to Chuck's Planted Aquarium and am confused with what it could be.

I'm wondering if I should just give the Tank some Fert's (Flourish)

I'm thinking of adding some CO2 until the soil starts to do this on it's own.

I wanted to make a Low Tech Tank initially.

Thanks for any input.

I think I need to adjust the KH, GH and Nitrates.

Help!

Am I reading that right.... you have 20 watts of light over a 55 gallon tank?
