Late Feb10 I planted a 75 with a generous selection of medium light backround/forground plants - mostly broad leaved. Now I cannot find details of my order and I am confused as to what plants are what.

Either way, several of the plants eventually sprouted like a brown beard from close to the tip of the leaf. I watched this at first thinking it was some sort of grotty algae but over the past three weeks or so these areas have sprouted individual leaves of their own, some are about 1.5" long now. Will this "new" plant eventually drop off, weigh the leaf down so much it can form its own root system in the substrate or would it be best for me to trim them off and plant them separately?

I know that there are a bunch of you out there who will find this easy to answer.....:bowing:

Thank you....

Likely java ferns. I just let them grow until the new plantlets have leaves a couple of inches long, then trim the new plant off. Often they come off on their own.

Well I deffinately remember ordering some of those (inserted in memory bank...hopefully will not fade!!!)

Sooooo, what do I do with the new growth please?

Thanks everybody. I reckon I'll leave them to do their stuff....Well only another 19 plants to identify!!!!!
