New Plants!!!

Gomisan

Man in a hat
I've just added the following to my tank, I'd be happy to hear any ccomments or tips on their care.

Wisteria
Glossostigma elatinoides
Eleocharis acicularis (Dwarf Hairgrass)
Cryptocoryne willisii
Bacopa australis

Also.. how the hell do you remove delicate stuff like Hairgrass & Glosso from the 'cotton wool' stuff in the tubs? It's basically grown into it.

sounds nice, I'd like to see what kind of scape you have planned.

answer to your question: very carefully and with a lot of care.

At this stage, I don't really have room for a planned scape. I'm just trying out different plants, seeing what I like, what grows, what dies.

Then I can plan my next tank from the ground up. Anything that I can establish in this one will then be transpanted into the new one, whenever that happens.

I'll post some pics when the water clears up a bit... I stirred up a lot of muck trying to get them planted, and still have to go back in and reseat a couple :(

yeah, I HATE replanting in an established tank. I've found that by extensively vacumming the gravel before planting it helps reduce the muck you stir up. You are at a fun stage in the world of plants. Hopefully in a few months you have have these wonderful images in your head of fanticiful scapes filled with vivid colors.

Wisteria - fast grower
Glossostigma elatinoides - looks nice if you have high light but a lot of maintenance in the long run. Lots of prunning and replanting.
Eleocharis acicularis (Dwarf Hairgrass)- nice grassy look and grows fast
Cryptocoryne willisii - no idea
Bacopa australis - very nice looking plant for a mid ground.

cheers,
Pedro
