New platy at surface a lot. Hungry?

Just added a new platy today it's at the surface alot looks like it's trying to eat. Is this normal?

all three of mine do that all day long. They will swim around the tank and then hangout at the top. They always act like they are hungry (even five seconds after they ate) I think it's normal

I've been watching for a while I think he's eating bubbles. Kinda cool to watch.

Are you sure he's not gasping at the surface for air?

Danios are fine so I'd say no I guess. It looks more like a playful thing.

I am a little nervous that you added a new platy without figuring out what happened to your first one...

First Platy came from the pet mega mart, wasn't really ever that active. This one is (from LFS) bigger and much more active, and just seems to be a better fish in general.But what do I know I'm just a beginer.

resist the urge to overfeed and keep an eye on the ammonia and nitrite levels. Is he gasping?
