i bought a bristle nose pleco about a week ago, and he is so cute. but it could just be my paranoia but i wonder if he is ok or not. he moves very little, i know that they are nocternal and all, but he has not ever attached to the glass. all he does is sit in a spot until something else come too close then he moves to another place. I dont know if he is scared or too big is about 3 1/2 inches and a little chubby but i thought he would be a little more active. :dance

How big is the tank? Feeding? Places to hide?

My bristles aren't that active for the most part. They tuck into a cave, and only really come out to eat--though they will rustle through the plants every now and then, and are certainly active during feeding time.

Also, a weeks not really a long time for a pleco to settle in. My Gold Nugget took about 3 weeks to finally settle in, and now he's one of the most active fish in the tank. Then again, plecos have personality. And everyone's different. Could just be the personality of your pleco.

Mine took a couple weeks to settle in, he would run to hide at the slightest shadow, now he hangs out more in his designated areas he appears to feel secure in. Now its been over 2 months, and he has gotten alot bolder, and I know what time he'll come out of hiding which is usually about 8pm in the evening, and sometimes around 10 a.m. he is active if the day is overcast. If its sunny, you won't see him in the mornings lol. Just keep watching until you learn his habits which he'll develop probably once he's really accustomed to the environment.

What you can do is drop a bottom feeder tablet where he has to come out to get it. Only place the food in that same spot when you feed. Feed around 8 or 9 p.m. Turn off the aquarium light, and keep a low room light on and wait.
