I've been raising calico BN plecos and I"m feeling a bit more comfortable. So I purchased a group of L201. I've been eyeing them for a while and the guy who has them ended up selling them. They are 2" and are F1s, tank born and tank raised. I'm super excited!

I pick them up this evening but here's a picture the seller had.

I've been researching for days about them and their tank is all set up. I do need to make a few more caves though. These are my first "real plecos"

What were your other pleco's??? Fake??? lol.

Nice group there. I've never messed with these types of pleco's before. Maybe in the future. Nice group there though. Can't wait to see pictures of them in your aquarium setup.

Great looking plec's Ashley . I would be excited too!!!!!

First real plecos? O.O

Cute!!!:hearts:

All these years I thought I owned "REAL" pleco's. Now I find out there only imitations =-( lol. I think she meant more exotic pleco's. Have to excuse her she probably is over excited right now about her soon to be new pleco's.

Care to say what you paid for them? I've had my eye on some L201. What water parameteres are you keeping them in?
I've been putting together a group of L204 for a while but it's so hard to find females.

Haha ok so maybe "real" plecos was going too far. I've kept 2 types of bristlenose plecos and a rhino pleco with success so I feel I have graduated to something a bit more complicated.

They were $20 each X( Since the seller is a friend of mine I'm paying for 5 and getting the 6th one free. Still pricey but not too bad for fish this size from what I've read. The tank they are going into is a 40 breeder with some young calico bristle nose plecos and a few various other young fish. I believe they need to grow a bit more before they are ready to breed. I'm keeping them in regular tap water. The seller lives up the street from me and he's had success raising them in regular water. The ph is 8.0 out of the tap and super hard.

Very nice! They're going to grow into some stunners!
