New Rare Species Tank Setup

Looks great!

Thanks all.

Went on an ammonia hunt today, I normally get pure, high filtration ammonia from the labs but they have been told that they shouldn't let people go home with any chemicals after a recent chemical saftey inspection.

After a long time of searching and going to large pet shops and dedicated fish shops to no avail, I finally went and bought some ammonia cleaner from a houseware shop. It says: "Contents: Ammonia solution" on the side and a solution is generally just the chemical mixed with water so I hope its ok.

Bubbles and water are now clearing and I picked up a Erpetoichthys calabaricus (Ropefish) today which might go in there... it's not essentially that rare but I havn't seen many on stocklists in the last few months. I have asked a few people to get in touch with some importers to get a few more... they may just go in the another 3ft or the 5ft though. I have included a few pics of him in the bag.

I too love the slate bottom. I think it might be a pain to "slate vac". let me know what you think of my tanks, in the link below.

:D slate vac. :P

Well I will use a gravel vac with an in-line pump most probably. This will increase the suction and enable me to dislodge and suck debris out from around the slate slabs without actually moving them.

An update --- I am thinking of stock here... but obviously I wouldnt put them all in.

Channa Pulchra
Slate Blue Leaffish Nandus sp.
Ctenopoma acutirostre/Ctenopoma weeksii
Erythrinus erythrinus
Tetraodon palembangensis
Tetraodon baileyi
Pygopristis denticulatus

Any ideas?
