Hi All,
Been a member here for awhile, I have 2 tanks up and running at the moment (1 20 gallon with RCS and Ramshorn snails, and a Kuhli that I cant seem to catch, and a 29 with an albino BN pleco, 3 young zebra botia, and 4 young kuhlis)
I will be moving in May/June and am hoping that the place I get will let me have fish (some landlords here are afraid of water damage
).
My thought is, since I will have to tear down and move my tanks anyway, I might as well get a new tank.
Ive been thinking of getting one large tank (55+ gallons) instead of having 2, just to simplify my life a little.
My question essentially is, what do you all feel would be a good sized tank? I will be increasing the zebra community to at least 6, and the kuhlis to 6 or 8. I know that zebras will eat snails, however there are actually several snails in the 29 with the zebras right now, and they havn't even bothered them, im thinking mine dont like snails? Anyhoo, I wont be too upset if the snails get eaten, seeing as how they were volunteers anyway, and now the population has exploded...
I would like something big enough for all the loachs, and the BN plec.
Between my two tanks, I have the equipment for up to 100Gallons, but my budget is fairly limited.
I have fluorite black sand in the 29 and smooth gravel in the 20, was thinking of mixing it into the new tank, but Im not really decided on that yet.
Any suggestions? advice? horror stories or non horror stories?
Thanks everyone!!
