hello all,new to the saltwater scene here so please bear with me,Ive got a 44 gal corner tank that Ive just set up,I have a fluval204 with a seaclone 150 skimmer and two max jet 400 powerheads running aswell,on the fluval ive got one of those surface skimmers too.Now living in bermuda ,Im not going to buy anything accept for salt,Ive put a 5gal bucket of beachsand,30lbs of liverock,4 sergant majors(babies)a plenny and a puffer fish(baby) sand anemone and a caribbean anemone. The tank has been running for 2 weeks now and everthing seems fine,am I off to the right start?

Its going to sound a little harsh, but i feel you have rushed into this a little..Before things are added to the tank, the system needs to be cycled before it will support the bioload that fish etc will introduce....Has all this stuff come from the ocean where you live? or have you brought the livestock and live rock from a local fish shop?

I wish you well with your system, and look forward to seeing some nice pictures of it..

The only potential problem area I see is that the Seaclone skimmers need very regular maintenance (cleaning) to work at their best. Many consider them as low quality skimmers but I have run a 240 using 3 of them. Cleaning is the key. I also discard the prefilter sponge, just clogs up too readily and a well maintained Seaclone does not really need it.

Also, please carefully select any fish you want - anemones are carnivores and love a fresh seafood dinner.
