I finally managed to get a mantis shrimp from my LFS. I put her in a 7 gallon minibow. Here are some pics:

Does yours click at night or do they only do that when they grab large prey?

Whoa, that mantis is huge. Mine is only about 5 inches long. It does click at night, when excavating its burrow. It knocks pieces of rubble into place using its punches.
What're you going to do when it gets older? Get an acrylic tank for him or just hope he doesn't break through the glass ever?
I don't think she'll grow much bigger, they top out around 6 inches. Also my professor told me that mantis shrimps arent quite as prone to breaking open tanks as popular belief makes them out to be.
I love the mantis shrimp. Probably my favorite species aside the Coral Banded.

I'm feeding it chunks of frozen shrimp along with the occasional live ghost shrimp, crab or snail.
