They lay their eggs above the waterline. Drop your waterline so you will have 2-3 inches space for them to lay their eggs. The eggs should remain damp, not too dry nor too wet. They should not be submerged as well as it will drown the embryos. Use a razor blade or a plastic card to scrape the eggs off. Do this 24 hours after it was laid so the eggs will have time to harden. Place the eggs in a box with damp (not wet) tissue. Eggs are best placed in warm humid conditions. The higher the humidity, the faster the eggs hatch. You have an option to leave the eggs stuck in your tank. Cover the tank. The female will only risk herself going out of the tank and then falling to the floor smashing her shell.
I had my cana eggs stuck in a bucket where I had placed my canas temporarily while fixing their tank. They laid the eggs there. I simply covered the tank with a few cm ap. Took only 8 days for these ones to hatch.
