My LFS has something called cosmic micro rasboras. Claimed to be newly discovered and not yet scientifically classified. They are about the size of a guppy, and look like a green snakeskin with bright red fins. Hes selling them for $15 a pop. Anyone seen/heard of them yet? All he knows about them is they are fish, and likely related to rasboras. No clue about full grown size, requirements etc. I forgot to ask him where they were discovered, but will next time I go in.

i wouldnt buy them.
sounds like a way to rip you off, because first) new species are given a scientific name before their discovery is released to the public (usually) and second) a fish that was just discovered will not wind up in a LFS before the people that discovered it have given the name.

There are many unamed micro rasbora species, but as the name suggest they are usually quite small. Get a pic of it sumthin.

i think you're probably referring to the "new" galaxy rasbora. it's supposed to be a fairly recently available (maybe not recently discovered) fish that is pretty good looking and stays very small. i stumbled across it somewhere. . .

yeah, it's microrasbora sp. 'galaxy'

You can get the galazy ones on aquabid. search for rasboras and its on there with a picture.

I picked up 8 of them at my LFS for $8.99 each. $15 seems a bit excessive to me, but that is their going price I suppose. They are fun to watch. Very cool looking small fish.

I actually just saw these on aquabid the other night. I was half tempted to buy them, but the auction was at like $20 per fish with a 6 fish minimum. If they are showing up at LFS i'll just wait to get some. They are nice looking fish though.
