if you make sure that it's COMPLETELY rinsed of salt, and if youre ok with having a rather high pH.

If you have or want African cichlids, i.e. Lake Malawi or Tangyanika, they will thrive in such an environment!

not only do you want to get rid of the salt, but all of the little marine critters that could be living in it.
