New SW setup, newbie too

Did another water change this week, changed a total of 10 gallons since Monday. Hoping to slow the Cyano. The 'sick' Kenya trees are shedding a bit. I'm not too confident but we will see what happens...

Protein skimmer is next on the To Buy list before anything else.

Hey Dan, look at the Vertex skimmer. Very nice design. I bought the N-180 for my 90 gal DT and will have it up and running in a couple of weeks. The VERTEX N-80 version is good from 40 - 80 gal. What is nice it's all self contained and the foot print is only 8" x 10" and 21.5" tall.

Picked up a nice sized Yellow Fiji Leather. Hopefully my lighting is good enough to keep it this yellow!

The cyano didn't come roaring back as thick yesterday with the lights on all day. Today I'm leaving the lights off for the entire day, tomorrow I will turn them back on and do another 5gal water change. Hopefully I can dilute the nutrients feeding the Cyano enough to get rid of it!! I almost ordered my protein skimmer last night, but decided to wait another week. Doh!
 
I think the Terminator... I looked at the skimmer you recommended, but I can get a good deal on either the Typhoon or Terminator from my LFS..
 
I haven't heard of the terminator except for this stupid governor we have here in California. :swear:
 
Both Kenya tree's shed a single branch, now they are both standing & full again. No clue where the branches ended up... But I'm glad they didn't die.

The Yellow Fiji Leather isn't doing so hot, but it wasn't doing that great in the LFS. Going to move it somewhere that it'll get better flow or return it if it looks any worse than it does now in a day or two.
