New SW setup, newbie too

I'd rather have tank bred clowns, for the price. They may be a little stupid - but my fish usually don't hold conversations with me so I'm not concerned. ;)

If worse comes to worse, you could always run them for some political office. :omg: :22_yikes:

Black clownfish added. I can def tell the difference from the tank bred and F1 clowns.. But it's okay, she still looks good. She is rather large so I would bet it's safely a female?

Better get another one, smaller so you have have a family. :D Photos you know!

Actinics...

Can anyone ID that alveopora/goniopora for me? My LFS is trying to identify it for me and their wholesaler can't figure it out either.

Don't feel bad Dan, I'm replacing the old light bulbs in my hood and my Nikon doesn't like them or else I've got to figure out new settings for the camera. Looks pretty good to me.

I need to find some different low light corals that will like the back of the tank. I can't get much lighting at the very top in the back because of the shape of the tank. Although I'm upgrading tanks, I'm sure I will be able to find a shaded spot...

The black clown didn't go after any pellets when I fed the Tang, but he is going after floating matter in the water - I will have to see what I can get him to take for food.

As you can see in the pictures, the Cyano has just about ran it's course and I did not change my feeding habits, did not change bulbs, did not increase flow...etc. I just kept up with my water changes.

I haven't had time or the room to really play with coral location in reference to lighting. My little frag tank is over crowded now. Check it out

That's awesome, the thought of a frag tank had never crossed my mind (how dumb). I was looking at my frags last night and thinking....ughhhhh these stupid little frags just look awful until they grow out.....

I could def do a fishless 20g long with some custom lighting.............Thanks. My wallet REALLY needs this right now. ;)

A 20 long would work great. Filtration on mine is an Emperor 280 and a AquaC Remora Pro skimmer. Water flow is provided for with 2 Koralia 4's, only use one of them most of the time. This is a small 30 gal frag tank that I have, 24" x 24" x 12" deep. The light I have was from a guy on eBay but can't seem to find him now. The bulbs lasted about 2 months but the fixture was nice.
